The publication Variety has suggested it could be based around Fielding’s columns about Bridget Jones that were published in The Independent in 2005 and 2006.
The fictional columns told the story of how Bridget Jones, now a woman in her 40s, tried to have a baby.
Zellweger received an Oscar nomination for her part in the first film in the series, which had been directed by Sharon Maguire.
Beeban Kidron was the director of the second film about Bridget Jones.
