French police discover Eta terrorist weaponry cache
French police have discovered a cache of weaponry and explosive devices that are believed to have been used for terrorism by the Basque separatist group, Eta.

The weapons that were found in the Herault area of France included guns, explosives and detonators, and it is thought that this discovery will be a major blow to the Eta group.

French policePolice from France and Spain have been working together after bomb attacks took place on the island of Mallorca and in mainland Spain in July.

On 19 August three suspected members of Eta had been arrested.  Aitzol Etxaburu Arteche, 30, Andoni Sarasola, 36, and Alberto Machain Beraza, 28, are all facing charges of being members of an illegal terrorist group.

Besides the latest discovery of weapons and explosives, police have made a number of other such finds and it is felt that Eta’s supplies will have been weakened by these actions.
