French actress Catherine Deneuve booed in Tuscany
French film star Catherine Deneuve has been booed at a reading she gave in Tuscany, reports say. The audience objected to the actress reading her part in her native French and without subtitles so the words could be understood.

Deneuve was appearing at a festival in Marina di Pietrasanta with Italian actor Michele Placido , local news agency ANSA has reported.

Catherine DeneuvePolice apparently had to deal with about 200 shouting people, who were annoyed by the star’s performance.

Both Deneuve and Placido were reading extracts from George Perec's book Je me souviens (I Remember).

Festival organisers have offered complimentary tickets to another performance at La Versiliana festival in an effort to make amends to the upset festival-goers.

Deneuve made her name as a French actress in films like Repulsion, Belle du Jour and The Last Metro.
