Paris plane catches fire and eight people injured
A plane getting ready to leave Orly airport in the French capital of Paris caught fire and eight people have been injured, according to reports.

The people suffered their injuries, which were not described as serious, as they made an effort to escape from the Airbus A320 plane by getting out from its emergency exits.

Airbus A320The Orly airport's fire-fighting teams soon got the fire in the engine room extinguished.

The plane, which was being flown by the Spanish air-carrier Vueling, was bound for Alicante when the fire started and it was still on its way to the runway at the time.

Passenger Terry Volante was quoted by the AFP news agency as saying that he witnessed black smoke coming from the engine when the plane was getting ready for take-off.

The injuries to passengers were minor and included a twisted ankle and bruises, Mr Volante explained.
