Bon Jovi rock band escape injury in Canadian runway skid

Members of the rock band Bon Jovi and their touring staff escaped all injury when a Boeing 707 they were on skidded off a runway after it landed in severe weather in Canada.

The plane was carrying 14 passengers at the time and overshot the runway at Hamilton International Airport.

The Boeing 707 landed in Ontario having flown from Buffalo, New York, where the rock band had just played a concert on Friday. A spokesperson for the group said that their other scheduled dates would still be going ahead this week.

The band Bon Jovi first found chart success in the 1980s and is famed for their best-selling 1987 album Slippery When Wet.

They had hit singles in America and Europe with Wanted Dead Or Alive, You Give Love A Bad Name and Livin' On A Prayer.

Bon Jovi's new album is Have A Nice Day, which is also the name of their current tour.
