Harry Potter actor Jamie Waylett guilty of cannabis cultivation

Jamie Waylett, who is an actor in the Harry Potter films, has been found guilty of growing cannabis in his mother's house in Kilburn in London.

19-year-old Waylett, who plays the role of the bully Vincent Crabbe, pleaded guilty to growing 10 cannabis plants.

Police had discovered pictures of the plants on Waylett's camera after he was arrested for photographing officers. It was claimed in Waylett’s defence that he had been capturing video footage of the road side for use in a music compilation.

Waylett must appear again before City of Westminster magistrates on 21 July.

At the time Waylett was arrested he had been in a car that belonged to his friend John Innis and police searched the vehicle and found a knife and eight bags of cannabis.

Mr Innis, from north London, admitted possession of a knife and having 11 bags of cannabis.
