French official unemployment figures rise again
French unemployment figures have been increasing by as many as 36,400 in May and it is the young people of the country most badly affected.

The current total is 2.543 million people out of work in France.

French official unemploymentUnemployment figures for the under 25-year-olds has gone up by 41.1% in the last year, according to reports.

French workers have staged strikes in protest at the job cuts brought about in many cases by companies cutting back due to the ongoing global financial crisis.

Nevertheless, the latest unemployment figures are being considered a slight improvement on the situation in April.

France has just warned, however, that the country did not think it would be able to reduce its deficit sufficiently to conform with the European Union limit of 3% for economic output in the year 2012.

It has also been predicted that the French national debt would go up to 86% of its economic output this year, which would be a 3% increase on the 83% expected.
