
The AF Flight 447 was carrying 228 people when disaster struck causing it to crash, although details of what went wrong are still not known.
The authorities in Brazil have reported that a total of 24 bodies have now been recovered along with debris from the plane that has been found some 1,000km (600 miles) north-east of the Brazilian Fernando de Noronha islands.
Investigators have so far suggested that the jet's speed sensors failed just before it went down after it encountered turbulent weather. It had been thought at one point that the plane had been struck by lightning.
A French submarine should be at the crash site later this week to help with the investigation being conducted by French and Brazilian search teams.
