French fashion house Christian Lacroix claims insolvency
The well-known French fashion house Christian Lacroix SNC are claiming insolvency and have started legal proceedings, it has been reported.

Christian Lacroix has been a leading French brand label for 22 years and is famous for its brightly-coloured gowns, however, it has run into trouble and has had to explain to a commercial court in Paris that it is now unable to pay debts the company owes.

Christian LacroixChristian Lacroix SNC claim that the firm has been hit by a vast drop in income due to the ongoing global economic crisis

The Christian Lacroix fashion house has around 125 employees making up its staff, and it is hoping that some way can be found so that it can carry on and that the workers will not have to lose their jobs.

French fashion designer Christian Lacroix had originally begun the company, and it was purchased from the Paris luxury goods group LVMH by the American Falic Group back in 2005.
