Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley possessions to be auctioned
Personal belongings that were once owned by Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe are to be sold by auction in Las Vegas, it has been reported.

Included among the lots on sale from Julien's Auctions will be Monroe's receipts for alcohol and Presley's old pill bottles, as well as the actress's bath robe, which is expected to sell for up to $6,000 (£3,745) because it is believed to be the last article of clothing she wore.

Elvis Presley and Marilyn MonroeTwo bricks from Monroe's last home in California, together with some of the furnishings from the place are included in the lots.

Photos of Monroe are amongst the items included in the auction. A fur stole, which is an item of clothing associated with Monroe's image, is on sale too.

The minutiae of Monroe's life, such as signed cheques and a newspaper bill are among other lots of potential interest to her fans.

Elvis Presley's doctor's medical equipment  is also listed in the catalogue for the auction, and includes a nasal douche and his leather bag.

A lapis stone ring that Presley had owned and worn is expected to sell for as much as $20,000 (£12,500).

Other memorabilia and celebrity possessions will also be auctioned at the sale that is taking place on the 26 and 27 June.
