French rugby club Toulon sign England's Jonny Wilkinson
England rugby player Jonny Wilkinson has signed a new deal that will mean a move to France and to being part of the French club Toulon.

Wilkinson has signed a two-year contract and will play in France next season.

Jonny WilkinsonWilkinson is parting company with Newcastle after 12 years with the club and he will be following Tom May, Jamie Noon and Ollie Phillips in moving abroad.

29-year-old Wilkinson actually had a year left on his Newcastle deal but he is feeling confident that he has made a good move.

Wilkinson had only played just four matches last season because he had dislocated his knee.

It is speculated that Wilkinson's new deal with the French rugby club could be worth 700,000 euros (£623,000) a year.

Although Wilkinson has signed a two-year contract he has the option of cancelling after a year.

Wilkinson said that he thinks it is more likely that he will want to re-sign for a longer term with the French side.
