Gasquet claims that he is innocent but Dr Stuart Miller, the head of the International Tennis Federation's anti-doping commission, has stated that the French star's provisional suspension is to start on Monday.
Gasquet, who has been considered as one to watch out for and as a top talent in the sport, became a professional tennis player in 2002.
Gasquet had managed to be in the last four at Wimbledon in 2007 and has a career-high ranking of seventh. Gasquet was also the youngest tennis star to qualify for an ATP Masters at Monte Carlo.
The French Tennis Federation said it was "very surprised" by the news of Gasquet failing the drugs test.
