Pelous, who has been playing as a lock for Toulouse, had already retired from the international rugby scene after the 2007 World Cup finished.
Pelous had also won two Heineken Cups with Toulouse as well as claiming four Grand Slams with France.
Pelous started his professional rugby career all the way back in 1995 as a player with Dax, and he then went on to join Toulouse two years after that.
Pelous had originally planned to retire from rugby last year to enter local politics but he changed his mind and has played on since then.
