31-year-old Clement, who was born in Aix-en-Provence and currently lives in Geneva in Switzerland, has just defeated Germany's Rainer Schuettler 1-6 6-3 6-3 on Monday.
Clement will play against Murray at 1500 GMT but the Scotsman faces a difficult game even if he is fully recovered, seeing as he already has a 0-2 record against his French opponent.
Novak Djokovic is currently the top seed in Dubai and Murray is seen as his main rival but with his injury it remains to be seen how much longer this will be the case.
