French tennis star Jo-Wilfried Tsonga beats Jeremy Chardy
French tennis star Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has claimed his third ATP title by beating compatriot player Jeremy Chardy with a 6-4 7-6 (7-5) score in the SA Tennis Open final.

Top seeded Tsonga did not drop a set in the five games he took part in although his French opponent, who is the world number 61, played well against him.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga23-year-old Tsonga said afterwards that he was very happy with the result and how well he had been playing recently.

The two players were more or less on equal footing throughout much of the match but it was in the 10th game that an unforced error at the net from Chardy gave a clear advantage to Tsonga.

Then in the second set another Chardy unforced error gave the victory over to Tsonga.

Tsonga also added afterwards, that he is looking forward to defending his title and feels optimistic about his current campaign.
