French tennis star Jo-Wilfried Tsonga wins in Melbourne
French tennis star Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has represented his country very well by beating unseeded Israeli player Dudi Sela, and in so doing, he added a third to three successes for France on the sixth day of the Australian Open in Melbourne.

Tsonga, who won with a 6-4 6-2 1-6 6-1 score followed impressive performance by compatriot Gael Monfils, who defeated Nicolas Almagro 6-4 6-3 7-5.

Jo-Wilfried TsongaMonfils goes forward now to face fellow Frenchman Gilles Simon, who won against Croatian star Mario Ancic with a 7-6 (7-2) 6-4 6-2 victory.

Tsonga had a spot of trouble in the third set but he fought back to beat Sela in the fourth set of the match.

Tsonga said afterwards that he was happy with how he had played and delighted with his victory.

22-year-old Monfils was in control of his game against Spanish player Almagro from early on in the match and he kept his lead to win.
