French tennis star Gilles Simon beaten by Andy Murray
Frenchman Gilles Simon has been defeated by Scottish tennis star Andy Murray, who now goes forward to the semi-finals of the Masters Cup.

Murray claimed an easy 4-0 lead and then despite Simon’s efforts the Scotsman won the first set.

Andy MurrayThe French player began the second set well but he was no match for Murray, who went on to claim a 6-4 6-2 victory.

Swiss star Roger Federer beat Czech player Radek Stepanek, who was a late replacement for the injured Andy Roddick, and the result was a 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 win to Federer.

Roddick had been forced to withdraw from the tournament because of an injured ankle so Stepanek became the second replacement player at the event after Simon had replaced Rafael Nadal from Spain.

Simon had defeated Federer in his first game but wasn’t able to succeed again against Murray.
