Manic Street Preachers album to use lyrics by Richey Edwards
Welsh rock band the Manic Street Preachers are currently working on recording their next album and all the lyrics will be by Richey Edwards, who vanished in 1995 and whose disappearance still remains a mystery.

The album, which will be the ninth by the band, is being produced by the legendary Steve Albini, and has the provisional titles Journal for Plague Lovers and I Know I Believe In Nothing But It Is My Nothing.

Manic Street PreachersThe Manic Street Preachers reveal on their website: "All the songs we are recording are lyrics left to us by Richey. Finally it feels like the right time to use them (especially after the last 18 months with Send Away The Tigers)."

The band also say that it will be similar to their earlier The Holy Bible but will have an acoustic side as well and they add: "It's a record that celebrates the genius of his words, full of love, anger, intelligence and respect. We have to make this great. Wish us luck."

Richey Edwards, who had been guitarist for the Manic Street Preachers had disappeared from a hotel in London on 1 February 1995 and his empty car was then discovered on 17 February at a service station near the Severn Bridge.

The new album by the Manic Street Preachers will hopefully be on release in April or May next year.
