French magazine L'Express International gets Moroccan ban
The French magazine L'Express International has received a ban in Morocco because one edition in particular is said to insult Islam, and this issue has been banned.

Moroccan Information Minister Khalid Naciri claimed that the publication violated the country's press code, but he failed to specify what part of it was found to be offensive. He just said that it was in breach of article 29 of the country’s press code

L'Express International magazineThe "Jesus-Muhammad Shock" issue of L'Express International examines the relationship between Christianity and Islam, and the magazine says that it tried to be sensitive to Muslim thoughts and feelings.

L'Express International had even altered the front cover image for the version on sale in Morocco to depict Muhammad with his face covered, whereas the French edition has him with his face uncovered.

The French magazine claims on its website that the article was printed in time for a meeting this week in Rome between Christian and Muslim scholars.

One of L'Express International’s editors, Christian Makarian, said he did not understand what they had done wrong or why the ban had been imposed.
