France beat Scotland in Rugby League World Cup match
France’s rugby team has defeated Scotland in the opening Group B match of Rugby League's World Cup in Canberra, despite some tough opposition from the Scots.

Lezignan player Jared Taylor made the first try for France but Scotland’s Jonathan Steel cancelled that, however, Jerome Guisset and John Wilson soon made up for it by giving their team an easy 18-6 half-time lead.

Oliver WilkesOliver Wilkes and Dean Colton did their best for Scotland but Sebastien Raguin, who also plays for the Catalans, made sure France stayed on top of the match and score.

Guisset went on to play superbly just five minutes from time and Carcassonne team member Christophe Moly ensured that the French had won the match.

France now goes forward to play against Fiji on Saturday, and French coach John Monie says he thinks his team will do even better again.
