American R&B singer R Kelly to get unpaid fees
American R&B singer R Kelly has been granted an award of $3.4m (£1.9m) from his former tour promoter to cover unpaid fees owing to him.

The star's company, R Kelly Touring, had submitted papers in a court in Los Angeles requesting that a judge should confirm the money, which was made by an arbitrator in September.

US singer R KellyKelly had originally claimed that Leonard Rowe of Rowe Entertainment had not paid him in full for shows in 2007 and 2008 and this was agreed on.

Mr Rowe had apparently disputed the decision but didn’t offer an alternative story or any defence.

Singer Ne-Yo was also awarded damages last month of $700,320 (£399,952) after he was dropped from the same tour as R Kelly claiming he had been fired as support act because fans preferred him.

Kelly has asked a judge in Los Angeles to help actually collect the money owed to him, which still hasn’t been paid.
