Psoriasis is non-contagious but causes itchy and flaking red patches of skin anywhere on the body. Sufferers get it to varying degrees and there are nearly as many as seven million people in America and about 2% of the British population that have the illness.
LeAnn Rimes speaks out on a video about psoriasis on the Stop Hiding from Psoriasis website and she explains: "Growing up with the condition was challenging, to say the least. At one point, 80% of my body was covered with psoriasis patches."
Rimes also says: "I hope by joining this effort, others will be empowered to stop hiding and better manage their disease."
LeAnn Rimes is a Grammy award winner and is probably most famous for her Top 10 hits How Do I Live and Can't Fight the Moonlight.
