
62-year-old Bryan Ferry will receive his BMI Icon title at a ceremony to be held on 7 October.
Ferry, who became famous as a pop star in the 1970s as the lead singer and main songwriter with Roxy Music, scored hits with songs such as Slave to Love and More Than This.
Ferry’s latest studio album, entitled Dylanesque, was released in 2007.
The BMI awards ceremony will be honouring the best British, European and Jamaican songwriters and publishers of the last year.
