Christian Bale is said to have hit out at his mother and sister in his apartment at the Dorchester Hotel on Sunday, however, he denies this and has been released on bail until September pending further investigations.
Bale is in Britain at present to promote the latest Batman film, The Dark Knight, in which he stars.
Bale's solicitors issued a statement, which said that their client "co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and left the station without any charge".
While Bale was at the police station, journalists were waiting to see the star to interview him.
