French football fans of Marseille aim to buy Didier Drogba
French football supporters of the Marseille club have launched a fund-raising drive in a bid to raise enough to buy Didier Drogba from Chelsea.

Marseille president Pape Diouf said he was "amused" by the fans’ efforts in a La Provence hs was quoted as saying: "I'm surprised and amused. It shows the true passion of our supporters."


Didier DrogbaThe football fans want to raise the 44 million American dollars they think is needed to buy Drogba.

New Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari says that 30-year-old Drogba is still very much part of his plans, however, there have been signs that Drogba might leave, with Barcelona, AC Milan and Inter Milan all reported as interested in getting him for their teams.

Marseille fans want to bring the striker back to the club he parted company with four years ago and they have already reached 1.5 million US dollars.

The main fans responsible fro the fund-raising campaign realise it will be probably impossible to get the sort of money really needed to buy Drogba, but they say they wanted to show Diouf how they feel about bringing Drogba back to France.
