
The 25th anniversary of the annual and prestigious book festival falls at the same time as Connery’s 78th birthday and the actor is expected to be in attendance at the event.
Edinburgh International Book Festival director, Catherine Lockerbie, explained that other James Bond-themed events would be staged to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the secret agent’s creator Ian Fleming.
The Edinburgh International Book Festival began life back in 1983 and is now the biggest event of its kind in the world.
A record number of 800 authors will be taking part in over 750 events at this year’s festival and include Sir Salman Rushdie, Louis de Bernieres and Alan Sillitoe.
