The row has been between the International Cycling Union (UCI) and the bosses of the race over who gets to decide which teams are allowed to take part.
Tour de France director Christian Prudhomme is reported to have said: "We have asked the FFC that the Tour is organised under their aegis."
The argument between the Tour de France organisers and the UCI dates back to 2004 when ASO, RCS (who run the Giro d'Italia) and Unipublic (the Vuelta) refused to join the UCI ProTour series.
The row has become heated again recently when it was revealed that last year's Tour de France winner Alberto Contador was not being invited to defend his title because his team Astana had been named in doping scandals that had been in the press.
The Tour de France begins on 5 July in Brest and finishes in Paris on 27 July.
