Tamla Motown group The Supremes dresses on show in London
An exhibition of over 50 dresses once worn by Tamla Motown original girl group The Supremes are going on show at a museum in London.

The display of the costumes takes place at the Victoria and Albert Museum later this month, along with interviews with Mary Wilson who was one of the singers. After the exhibition in London ends it will also go to Blackpool, Birmingham and Bristol.


Mary WilsonOne of the first dresses The Supremes ever had will be on display, as well as the beaded ones they wore when they met the Queen Mother in 1968.

The Supremes had a series of hits between 1964 and 1969 and ex-member Diana Ross came to fame as one of The Supremes.

Mary Wilson is reported to have said: "I have kept these dresses in storage for over 30 years. I am delighted that they are going on display at the V&A and on tour around the UK."
