Pop singer Paula Abdul makes mistake on American Idol
Pop singer Paula Abdul, who has been appearing as a judge on popular TV show American Idol has left viewers wondering what was happening when she commented on two songs of a contestant who had actually only performed one.

The judges of the programme made notes and then got the chance to give their opinions after each competitor had given their performance, however, when Abdul came to discuss Jason Castro’s entry, she said she had heard "two songs" by him.

Paula AbdulPaula Abdul said: "Jason, first song, I loved hearing your lower register, which we never really hear, um... the second song, I felt like your usual charm wasn't - it was missing for me. It kind of left me a little empty. The two songs made me feel like you're not fighting hard enough to get into the top four."

Fellow American Idol judge Randy Jackson told Abdul that there had only been the one song, and after realising the mistake she had made the singer added: "Oh my god, I thought you sang twice!"

And Simon Cowell commented at the end of the show: "This was officially the strangest show we've ever done.
