However, Nicolas Sarkozy also came to the defence of the work he was doing as president and he said he was committed to reforms for his country.
President Sarkozy was shown speaking in a live interview lasting 10 minutes and it was broadcast on both of France’s main channels.
The French president has, however, come in for a lot of criticism by some people who have found fault with his reform plans and also his much-publicised whirlwind romance to Carla Bruni whom he has now married. The TV interview has been seen by some of his critics to be nothing more than a bid to boost Nicolas Sarkozy’s declining popularity.
