27-year-old heiress Paris Hilton, who will be the executive producer for the show, says she was looking for "someone who cares about me" and who is "not going to screw me over".
The successful applicant if chosen will move into a house with Hilton and will be a companion for the star as she indulges her tastes in fashion and shopping.
Paris Hilton has said she is thinking of challenges to set the applicants, and she is reported by Associated Press to have said she is searching for "someone who's fun, someone who I can trust and someone to get along with that is not going to screw me over. Just someone to have a great time with".
