French executive Jean-Francois Camilleri to run Disneynature
France-based executive Jean-Francois Camilleri is going to be in charge of running Disneynature, which is a new specialist film unit that is being stared up by the Disney Company for next year.

Disneynature will produce wildlife and environmental documentary films, and the first one it is showing will be Earth, an adaptation of the BBC Planet Earth television series but this time to be shown on the cinema screen. Earth will be released in America on 22 April 2009.

DisneyJean-Francois Camilleri explained what Disneynature will be about in this way: "Nature invents the most beautiful stories. Our role will be to tell them with passion and enthusiasm."

Camilleri had played a large hand in creating the French nature film March of the Penguins, which won an Academy Award for best documentary.

Disneynature is also expected to be making film documentaries about flamingos, orang-utans and the world's oceans and marine life.
