French MP angered by Sebastien Tellier's Eurovision entry
French MP Jacques Myard of the UMP party is furious that the song chosen to represent France in the Eurovision song contest has English words in it.

Jacques Myard has called on the company that runs most of France's TV networks to change its mind about accepting the song by Sebastien Tellier .

Sebastien TellierDivine by Sebastien Tellier has a combination of English and French lyrics and electronic backing music, and the French culture minister has spoken up in defence of the song. Christine Albanel said: "Sebastien Tellier has great talent, he has a real international dimension."

Jacques Myard claimed it was not right that, in a European contest, that his country should be using part of the culture of another of its rivals.

And Christine Albanel also had to admit: "I do think it is a shame that it isn't a French song."

43 countries are participating in the Eurovision song contest that is watched throughout Europe and worldwide by countless people.

The video is great and the song superior to the bulk of Eurovision dross. For what it's worth, I sincerely hope this wins. It gets my vote.
