Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin’s father Bob cuts links with zoo
Bob Irwin, who is the father of the late "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin, has cut his ties with his son's Australia Zoo wildlife park after a rumoured disagreement with Steve Irwin’s widow Terri.

But 68-year-old Bob Irwin will now receive a package worth more than A$1m (£471,260) and an annual pension of A$100,000 (£47,000) from the zoo in Queensland.

CrocodileAustralian-born Bob Irwin, who set up the park 38 years ago and is as keen on nature and conservation as his world famous son, handed over control of the zoo to Steve Irwin in 1991.

Tragically, however in 2006, a stingray killed Steve Irwin, who was famed for his hands-on and often daredevil approach to dealing with wildlife. Steve Irwin was filming a documentary when the accident that caused his death happened.

Steve Irwin’s widow Terri Irwin has promised to carry on his work on conservation and the study of crocodiles.

Bob Irwin wouldn’t make any comment on his reported disagreement with Terri Irwin over the running of the zoo but he admitted he didn’t agree with everything that was being done there.
