US rap star Diddy settles legal case against him

American rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs has settled a court action taken out against him by a man seeking damages who said Diddy had hit him in the face.

Gerard Rechnitzer, 28, alleged that he had been "assaulted and battered" by Diddy outside Teddy’s Hollywood nightclub in February of last year, however, Diddy had responded by claiming that Gerard Rechnitzer had first hit lunged at him.

Gerard Rechnitzer said Diddy had attacked him when he approached the rap star, who was at a post-Oscars party being held at the club.

Gerard Rechnitzer also alleged that Diddy pushed his girlfriend and spat at another woman who was present at the time, however, Diddy denied the allegations and maintained that "any contact" Gerard Rechnitzer "was caused by his forward motion against my open hand".

Details of the settlement Diddy has agreed on have not been revealed.

Diddy has been previously known as Puff Daddy and later on as P. Diddy and he is also an actor, producer and clothes designer.
