Alexandra Rosenfeld
was chosen from the 45 candidates, all aged between 18 and 25 by a jury
and the viewers, by way of a telephone vote. According to the
organizers, more than 335,000 viewers rang to vote for their favourite.
Johnny Halliday's wife Laeticia presided over the jury, which was made
up of her husband, who entertained the spectators with his song "Ma
religion dans son regard", Jenifer (who sang "Le souvenir de ce jour"),
the actors, Mathilde Seigner, Jean Reno, Marlène Jobert and Bruno
Putzulu, Formula One driver, Paul Belmondo and Corinne Coman (Miss
France 2003).
Alexandra is in her second year studying tourism and would like to open a travel agency.
The runners up were as follows: 1st: Sophie Ducasse (Ile de France),
2nd: Laura Fasquel (Albigeois-Midi-Toulousain), 3rd: Elodie Lebon
(Reunion) and 4th: Virgine Gaudeneche (Pays de l`Ain).
Miss
Languedoc's Alexandra Rosenfeld, 19, was elected Miss France 2006 in
Cannes' festival hall (Palais des festivals) on Saturday 3rd December.
She was presented with the crown by her predecessor Cindy Fabre, who
had to leave China where she was representing France at the Miss World
pageant to make it to the ceremony.
