Neil Young to headline A Day at the Hop Farm festival
Canadian singer-songwriter and rock star Neil Young is to headline a new music festival that is being called A Day at the Hop Farm and will take place in July in Tonbridge, Kent.

A Day at the Hop Farm is being billed on its website as a “back to basics” event and a festival without registration, VIP areas and branding – all of which have been criticised as spoiling other big rock festivals.

Neil YoungFormer Mean Fiddler boss Vince Power, who was also involved in the Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds festivals, is the brains behind A Day at the Hop Farm.

So far only Neil Young has been confirmed but other acts are expected to be announced in the very near future.

Irish-born Vince Power, who received an honorary CBE in 2006, has been involved with the Benacassim festival in Spain for the past three years and is now looking forward to working on a UK event again.

Neil Young, who is most famous for his hit Heart of Gold, has been touring to promote his latest album Chrome Dreams II.
