Leonard Cohen then moves on to play in Europe and will be performing at festivals such as Montreux, Glastonbury and the Big Chill.
The dates for the forthcoming tour were announced just hours after Leonard Cohen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in America, alongside Madonna, John Mellencamp and The Dave Clark Five.
Besides Glastonbury and the Big Chill festivals Leonard Cohen is appearing at, he will also play four nights at Manchester's Opera House in June as part of the city's International Festival, as well as concerts at Edinburgh Castle and the O2 Arena in London.
The European leg of Leonard Cohen’s tour concludes in September and will visit Prague, Girona, Copenhagen, Bruges and Istanbul before it is over.
AEG Live’s Rob Hallett said: "For many, this tour will be the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the legend that is Leonard Cohen."
Leonard Cohen was made famous by songs such as Suzanne, So Long Marianne and Bird on a Wire but he had enjoyed success before this with his poetry in The Spice-Box of Earth (1961) and a novel The Favourite Game (1963).
