Velvet Revolver star Scott Weiland on drugged driving charge
Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland has pleaded not guilty to driving whilst under the influence of drugs it has been reported.

Rock star Scott Weiland , 40, had been arrested by police after refusing to take a sobriety test, in November of last year, after he crashed his car on a freeway in Los Angeles.

Scott WeilandScott Weiland, who used to front Stone Temple Pilots but has now teamed up with former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash in the band Velvet Revolver, could be sentenced to up to a year in jail if he is found guilty, due to a previous conviction.

Scott Weiland has had drug problems in the past and has been arrested several times on drugs charges, with the last of these being back in 2003. Scott Weiland was sentenced to attend a six-month rehab programme after he pleaded no contest to driving under the influence of drugs.

Scott Weiland, who was absent from court, is due to appear again on 4 April and he entered his plea through his lawyer.
