Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood’s art as fundraiser for Royal Academy
Rolling Stones guitarist, Ronnie Wood, is selling some of his artwork to help raise funds for London's Royal Academy of Arts it has been reported.

Ronnie Wood’s sketch, which is of Royal Ballet stars Carlos Acosta and Darcey Bussell, is one of over 30 items up for sale at the auction, which is being held on Wednesday.


Ronnie WoodRock star, Ronnie Wood, had begun displaying paintings and drawings in public in the 1980s and has had many exhibitions worldwide.

Ronnie Wood said he was proud to be able to help the cause and had this to say in explanation of his art and inspiration: "As an artist and art lover, I am devoted to the human form. I have had the privilege and excitement of standing in the wings of the Royal Ballet and sketching Britain's premiere ballet dancers. The precision of physical movement of these dancers is mesmerising."

Ronnie Wood will be a guest speaker at the event and he added that the auction would "support artists through the Royal Academy Schools so people like me can continue to be inspired by new talent".

Items that will be on auction on Wednesday are on display at the Royal Academy of Arts.
