
In fact, Mark Regan downplayed his reaction to the French coach’s remarks by saying: "It's the biggest compliment you can give me. It's my job to get under their skins and clearly I did that."
Mark Regan’s habit of delaying to take throw-ins at the match had annoyed the French and this was how their coach Marc Lievremont was feeling.
Nevertheless, Mark Regan did admit: "I am a bit disappointed Lievremont called me a clown, but when you come to France you have got to play on the edge and get under their skin somehow. If you don't, they will get under yours."
