Britney Spears, 26, who had been in the UCLA Medical Centre since last Thursday, left it accompanied by private security guards, but no police escort.
A statement by James and Lynne Spears voiced the fears: "We are deeply concerned about our daughter's safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk. We ask only that the court's orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted."
It is rumoured that Britney Spears has headed for one of her homes but will be seeking further treatment.
Britney Spears's manager, Sam Lufti, had been prevented from contacting or being around her a restraining order, and Lynne Spears had claimed that he had drugged her daughter, cut off her phone lines and called her an "unfit mother." Lynne Spears alleges that Sam Lufti was attempting to control Britney Spears’ life.
