Scrabble makers say Scrabulous on Facebook must go
The manufacturers of the popular Scrabble game have told Facebook that they must get rid of the Scrabulous application because it infringes their copyright.

However, Scrabulous has proved extremely popular on the Facebook social networking website and can get as many as 500,000 daily users, but lawyers for toy makers Hasbro and Mattel, who make Scrabble say Scrabulous is an infringement of the firm’s copyright.

ScrabulousFans of Scrabulous want to keep the application running on Facebook and a new group called "Save Scrabulous" that already has more 600 members, has been set up in protest.

Scrabulous is currently one of Facebook's ten most popular programs that members can add to the personal profiles they have on the site.

The Scrabulous website claims it has 594,924 daily active users, which is nearly a quarter of the total members who have signed up to play it.

Facebook has so far not made any comment on the matter.
