St Trinian’s actress Gemma Arterton for James Bond film

Actress Gemma Arterton, who is starring in the latest St Trinian’s film, has also been picked as a Bond girl for the latest movie about the secret agent James Bond, The Hollywood Reporter has reported.

Gemma Arterton, 21, who comes from Kent, will be playing the role of a character known as Fields in the film, which has the current working title of Bond 22.

No more information is currently available, although a spokesperson on behalf of Danjaq Productions, the production company making the movie, described her part as a "a nice-sized role".

Actor Daniel Craig will be playing the role of James Bond for a second time.

Filming for Bond 22 has already begun and the film is set for general release later on this year in November.

Gemma Arterton was most recently seen playing the part of an unruly pupil in a remake of the 1950s St Trinians boarding school films.

Gemma Arterton follows in the footsteps of past Bond girls, Ursula Andress in Dr No and Jane Seymour in Live and Let Die.
