The minute Bible is only 0.5sq-mm (0.01sq-in) and was written on to a silicon surface covered with a thin layer of gold (20nanometres thick - 0.0002mm).
The scientists used a Focused Ion Beam (Fib) to inscribe the text, and Ohad Zohar, a manager of the research team explained: "When we send the particle beam toward a point on the surface, the gold atoms bounce off of this point, thus exposing the silicon layer underneath."
They next intend to photograph the Bible and exhibiting it on a massive wall within the Faculty of Physics alongside the nano-Bible for comparison.
"In this picture, which will be 7m by 7m (23ft by 23ft), it will be possible to read the entire Bible with the naked eye (the height of each letter will be some 3mm - 0.1in)," Mr Zohar is reported to have added.
