Basketball star Tony Parker sues X17online.com
Basketball star Tony Parker, who is the husband of Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria, is taking legal action against X17online.com celebrity gossip website.

Belgian-born Tony Parker, 25, is suing for at least $40m (£20m) over claims he allegedly had an affair with model Alexandra Paressant.

Basketball star Tony ParkerX17online.com had published a series of "false" stories, according to papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

In an interview posted on the website, Alexandra Paressant claimed she and Tony Parker had a two-month affair, and that she went to Tony Parker's wedding with a group of friends including French football player Thierry Henry.

The legal papers being presented by Tony Parker’s lawyers claim: "X17 had to know that the story was false, or, at the very least, it had to have entertained serious doubts about the credibility of the supposed source."

Tony Parker married Eva Longoria, 32, in Paris in July, and in People magazine last week he commented on how strong his marriage is saying: "I love my wife. She's the best thing in my life, and I have never been happier."
