Lost actress Michelle Rodriguez goes to jail

Actress Michelle Rodriguez, who is famous for her role as Ana-Lucia in Lost, has started a six-month prison sentence for being in violation of probation she was given for driving offences.

Michelle Rodriguez arrived at the Los Angeles County jail on Sunday, and it has been reported that she was taken into the Century Regional Detention Facility, where Paris Hilton had also been in custody earlier this year.

Michelle Rodriguez received the sentence in October when she admitted violating her probation by failing to provide proof of community service, and by having drunk alcohol whilst wearing a monitoring device.

A message on Michelle Rodriguez's website, dated 23 December, thanked fans for their "love and support".

In 2004, Michelle Rodriguez pleaded no contest to three offences, including hit-and-run and drink-driving, in Los Angeles, and for which she was sentenced to two days in jail, ordered to perform community service and given a period of probation for three years.
