The judge is reported to have said: "Mr Kelly, I'm very disappointed. These are extraordinary things and not to be taken for granted."
R Kelly, 40, who has had hits including I Believe I Can Fly, Gotham City and Thank God It's Friday, has pleaded not guilty to charges of videotaping sex acts with a teenage girl.
Judge Gaughan added: "I need more input about what happens to you if I revoke your bail and stop you from concerts."
However, R Kelly's lawyer, Ed Genson, explained that his client had always appeared on time in court before and hadn’t violated other rules and restrictions that had been set by the court.
