16-year-old Jamie-Lynn Spears, who stars in the Nickelodeon TV series Zoey 101, has already gone 12 weeks into the pregnancy and at first she kept the news to herself when she found out from a testing kit and subsequent check-up by her doctor.
Jamie-Lynn Spears said that after the doctor confirmed her pregnancy she "took two weeks to myself where I didn't tell anybody."
Jamie-Lynn Spears told her mother, Lynne Spears, just before Thanksgiving, OK! Magazine reported.
Lynne Spears, who is already grandmother to Britney Spears' young sons, reportedly told the magazine: "I didn't believe it because Jamie Lynn's always been so conscientious. She's never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby."
Lynne Spears explained that Jamie-Lynn had known Casey Aldridge for years and had started dating him in high school.
Besides her work in Zoe 101, Jamie-Lynn Spears had appeared in 2001's Total Britney Live and in a Pepsi commercial in 2002 and she also appeared briefly in the movie Crossroads.
