Sharon & Ozzy Osbourne raise over $800,000 in charity saleSharon and Ozzy Osbourne are reported to have raised over $800,000 (£389,032) for charity from the sale of some of their possessions from their former Beverly Hills home in America.
The Osbourne family's custom pool table went for $11,250 (£5,470) and a pair of Ozzy Osbourne's trademark round John Lennon-style spectacles fetched $5,250 (£2,553).
Darren Julien, who runs the company that staged the charity sale, said: "For a celebrity garage sale, it was pretty spectacular." The proceeds of the sale are going to Sharon Osbourne's foundation for colon cancer, which she set up after being treated for the disease in 2002. Bidders and fans of the Osbournes came from as far away as Germany in their bid to get hold of belongings from the mansion, which was the setting for the family's MTV reality television series, The Osbournes. A massive coffee cup that Ozzy Osbourne often used in the TV series brought in $1,625 (£790) and trainers with skull images on them as worn by Ozzy Osbourne fetched $2,625 (£1,276).
